Volume Editors’ Guide

For those considering editing a volume for the AVISTA series or those already under way, here is a comprehensive guide of what you need to do to see a project from concept to proposal to work in progress.  Once a volume is under way, we also suggest having a look at the various resources listed below. For planning purposes, note that there is no simple timeline for the process.  Edited volumes can take a minimum of 12 months to successfully organize, propose, conduct peer review, revise, copy-edit, typeset and produce, and realistically the process may take 24 months or more, depending on editors’ and authors’ turnaround time, reviewer allowances, and production scheduling.
